What’s better than an ice cream sundae? An ice-cream sundae with Sankofa Plantain Chips! Take your dessert game to the next level with this decadent twist on a traditional guilty pleasure.

Ingredients:

Instructions:

  1. Crush up a bag of some Sankofa Plantain Chips, leaving a few chips whole to use as garnish.
  2. Scoop your ice cream into a medium sized bowl
  3. Top the ice cream with crushed plantain chips, chocolate bark, chocolate syrup, and any other delicious toppings you’d like!
  4. Garnish with some whole plantain chips. 
  5. Dig in!

Sweet, Salty & Crispy Chocolate Bark

The combination of salty, sweet, crispy and crunchy makes this snack irresistible. Snack on it alone, or add to an ice cream sundae for some extra #crispymagic goodness!

Serves: 4-6

Preparation time: 30 minutes (+2 hours to set)

Ingredients:

  • 1 bag Sankofa Plantain Chips
  • 16oz milk chocolate chips or two 8oz chocolate bars, broken into small pieces

Instructions:

  1. Line a baking sheet or pan with foil.
  2. Crush up some Sankofa Plantain Chips⁣
  3. Place the chocolate in a microwave-safe bowl and microwave in 30 second intervals, stirring between each interval until melted and smooth.
  4. Spread the chocolate on the prepared baking sheet so it’s about 1/2 inch thick.
  5. Sprinkle the crushed plantain chips onto the chocolate, pushing the pieces in slightly to make sure that they are set into the chocolate.
  6. Set aside at room temperature until firm, about 2 hours. To set the mixture faster, you can let it set in the fridge. 
  7. Remove your bark from the foil and break into pieces. 
  8. Dig in!

Serves: 4-6

Preparation time: 30 minutes

Ingredients:

  • 2 bags Sankofa Plantain Chips
  • 1 pound lean ground beef
  • Seasonings to taste
  • 1 cup shredded Mexican cheese blend
  • 1 tomato, seeded and diced
  • 1 onion, diced
  • 5 kpakposhito peppers, sliced
  • 1 avocado, diced

Instructions:

  1. In a 10-inch nonstick skillet, cook the ground beef over medium-high heat for 6 to 8 minutes or until no longer pink, stirring occasionally to break up the beef. 
  2. Stir in seasonings, and cook the mixture for 2 to 3 minutes or until thoroughly heated. 
  3. Meanwhile, place a layer of Sankofa Plantain Chips on a large microwave-safe platter.
  4. Top the chips with the meat mixture and about ¾ of the cheese. 
  5. Microwave for 2 minutes on high or until the cheese is melted. 
  6. Top with tomatoes, onions, avocado, and peppers, and the rest of the cheese. 
  7. Dig in!

  • Salt/sugar to taste
  • Caramel syrup
  • Chocolate syrup
  • Optional add-ons: nuts, marshmallows, raisins, etc.

Instructions:

  1. Pop some popcorn over the stove or in the microwave.⁣
  2. Crush up some Sankofa Plantain Chips⁣
  3. Combine the popcorn and crushed chips in a large bowl. Add some salt or sugar to taste and mix well.
  4. Add any personal touches: nuts, marshmallows, or even raisins. The sky’s the limit!
  5. Drizzle caramel and chocolate syrup over the chip-corn mix, and mix thoroughly to coat the mixture evenly.
  6. Dig in!
